Closing the Loop
Right now, the scraps we collect go to partner composting facilities in the Denver metro. But the long-term goal is to close the loop ourselves — to take what this community generates and turn it back into something useful.
The plan: once A Little Compost grows enough to support it, we want to run our own small-scale composting operation. Finished compost would come back to the neighborhoods it came from — free for subscribers, and sold in small batches to local farms, community gardens, landscapers, and neighbors who want good soil without the big-box markup.
Nothing fancy. Just scraps going in, good compost coming out, and staying local the whole way through.
This is where we're headed. Want to help get there?
